THE VINEYARD CELLAR OF THE VIGNERONS DU CASTELAS

The vineyard of Les Vignerons du Castelas was created in 1952, the year during which a handful of winemakers combine efforts and wills to develop wines of the Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône Villages Signargues, AOP Tavel and IGP du Gard of the highest quality.

Since then, several generations have followed one another and continue to make wines with respect for traditions and an agriculture that respects people and the land. The cellar's vineyard covers 450 hectares mainly in Côtes du Rhône.

Today, Les Vignerons de Castelas brings together 45 families of winemakers attached to their land and their vineyard. They cultivate their vines of quality in order to offer you supple wines, of pleasure, to taste whatever the occasion. The Rochefort du Gard winemakers are committed by vocation, to healthy vines on a living soil and offer you wines that express the enthusiasm and sincerity of the work accomplished with passion, knowledge and sensitivity.

THE APPELLATIONS OF THE ROCHEFORT-DU-GARD VINEYARD BY LES VIGNERONS DU CASTELAS

The vineyards mainly produces Côtes du Rhône appellation wines. A production of Côtes du Rhône Villages Signargues, AOP Tavel and IGP du Gard wines is also present. Discover the wines of our vineyard, they are the best ambassadors of the passion of our winemakers and the singularity of their terroir.

Côtes du Rhône wine

The Côtes du Rhône vineyard is one of the oldest vineyards in France and ranks second in terms of production volume after Bordeaux. This major wine region spans no less than six departments: Loire, Rhône, Ardèche, Drôme, Vaucluse, and Gard. The Côtes du Rhône appellation stands out for the diversity of its rocky soils (granite, sandy silica, limestone, etc.) and its grape varieties (Syrah, Grenache Noir, Marsanne, Roussanne, Viognier Blanc, etc.) which offer a very disparate mosaic of red, white or rosé wines with a strong character.

Côtes du Rhône Villages Signargues wine

The Côtes du Rhône Villages Signargue appellation concerns wines from the Rhône valley produced in the Gard in the villages of Domazan, Estézargues, Rochefort-du-Gard and Saze. The appellation cuvées are suitable only for making red wines. The grape varieties are made up of 40% Grenache associated with Syrah and / or Mourvèdre in a proportion of 25% minimum. The dry, hot, windy climate and the soils made up mainly of rocky slabs and pebbles reddened by iron oxide, give these sophisticated, racy and elegant wines their particular characteristics.

AOP Tavel wine

The wines of the Tavel appellation are produced in rosé only. They are made on the vineyards of the village of Tavel and Roquemaure in the Gard. Benefiting from the mild Mediterranean climate with generous sunshine as well as the prevailing wind, the mistral, the vineyard gives birth to the "kings of rosés", the Tavel.
On tasting, this exceptional wine reveals a nose with aromas of red fruits and a very noticeable fresh almond note. On the palate, we are seduced by this full-bodied, gourmet wine with a smooth, rounded texture.
